Botox injections
We offer the smallest needle made for Botox injections. Most physicians use a 30 gauge needle; we use a 32 gauge needle (larger number means a smaller needle). This means less pain and less bruising. Come see the difference!

Facelift (Rhytidectomy)

Being in the medical field, I wasn’t going to just anyone for my facelift.
Dr McMahan’s credentials and reputation are outstanding compared to other
plastic surgeons I was considering. I was so relaxed going into surgery because
I knew that I had made the right choice. I look at least twenty years younger
and no one can see my scars. When I go out with my daughter, people think that
I’m her sister and I love it! No one but Dr. McMahan will ever touch my face.
Modern day facelift techniques not only remove excess skin from the face and neck, but also tighten the underlying muscles to provide longer lasting benefits. Facelifts are frequently combined with other procedures to render a more youthful appearance to the forehead (browlift) and eyes (blepharoplasty), or to treat wrinkles around the lips.

When you have requested Dr. McMahan to perform a facelift, you have given him the go ahead to remove the superfluous skin on your face and tighten the muscles to produce a taut and fresh appearance. Other plastic surgery procedures are often combined at the same time to get rid of wrinkles near the mouth, revitalize the area around the eyes, and rejuvenate the appearance of the forehead with a brow lift. A mid-face lift is also possible to erase deep folds next to the nose.

The extra skin on your cheeks and neck is removed. Muscle tissue that lies beneath is tightened with strategically placed sutures. Liposuction is sometimes used to eliminate excess fat in the jowls and neck. The surgical procedure will be performed under the anesthesia of your preference under the doctor’s recommendation. The options are intravenous sedation, local or general anesthesia.

This treatment is an outpatient procedure. Dr. McMahan’s expertise assures that his patients will not have over-tightened skin resulting in an unnatural appearance typical of more outdated techniques. Your face will be contoured rather than just tightened up, and the target amount can be checked in Dr. McMahan’s before and after photo dossier.

If you are worried about scars, remember that facelift scars will mostly be in hidden areas such as your scalp and behind the ears. A few fine lines will be located under the chin or in front of the ears. Dr. McMahan believes in reducing risk as far as possible. You will be put on antibiotics during the period of your surgery, and he also uses a drain to get rid of blood and fluid which can cause infection.

The discomfort you may expect is a level of numbness in your cheeks which will wear off after a few months. Many patients find they only need mild medication to combat this pain. Since Dr. McMahan favors the tumescent technique, recovery is speedy and bleeding is minimal.
